From Hosanna to Hold Up: My Palm Sunday Reflections

Hey there, friends! Gabrielle here, and I've got Palm Sunday on my mind.
You know, it's funny how every year, when Palm Sunday rolls around, I can't help but think about how quickly people can change their tune. I mean, picture this: One minute, everyone's waving palm branches, shouting "Hosanna!" and treating Jesus like a celebrity. Then, bam! Five days later, it's all "Crucify Him!" and "Give us Barabbas!" Talk about a mood swing, right?
It got me thinking – how often do we do the same thing with God?
Let's be real for a second. How many times have we been all "Yes, Lord! I'm all in!" when we think God's about to do exactly what we want? But then, the moment He asks us to do something challenging or things don't go as we expected, we're like, "Uh... can I have my palm branch back?"
I'll be the first to admit, I've been there. It's so easy to praise God when everything's going our way, isn't it? But what about when He tells us to delete that number, change our friend group, or step out in faith in a way that scares us?
The people in Jerusalem thought Jesus was coming to save them from Roman oppression. When they realized His mission was more about spiritual freedom than political revolution, they weren't having it. And honestly? Sometimes we're not so different.
So, as we head into Easter, I'm challenging myself (and you, if you're up for it!) to check our hearts. When God doesn't give us what we want, do we still trust Him? When He challenges us to grow or change, are we still all in?
Let's be the kind of followers who stick around, palm branches and all, even when things get tough. Let's anchor ourselves in who Jesus really is, not just what we want Him to do for us.
What do you think? Have you ever caught yourself "switching up" on God? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Until next time, keep seeking, keep growing, and remember – He's worth it, even when it's hard.
All the Best,
